The south of German-speaking East Belgium lies at the interface between the Eifel and the Ardennes, between the Rhine and the Meuse. In the municipalities of Bütgenbach, Büllingen, Amblève, Sankt Vith and Burg-Reuland, one finds characteristics of both nature reserves in landscape, architecture, and culture. These municipalities used to be part of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
The Valley of the Our is a characteristic deep valley of extraordinary scenic beauty. Quiet hamlets offer an exceptional quality of life. The municipality of Burg-Reuland is the most important asset, with the ruins of the castle (“Burg”). The border village of Ouren harbours the famous “Dreiländereck” (frontier to three countries, Belgium, Germany and Luxemburg).
