The High Fens

Hohes Venn Fagne Wallonne (c) www.ostbelgien.eu/ Dominik Ketz

The untouched nature is the trump card of the region; the landscapes and sights continue to amaze. Nature lovers can discover them from mythical places such as Botrange (694 m), where the Baltia hill is the highest point in the country (700 m), Mont Rigi and Baraque Michel. Hiking is possible on marked trails (www.eastbelgium.com).

The nature reserve is an integral part of the 72,000 hectare Hautes Fagnes-Eifel Natural Park. The Maison du Parc in the Botrange with its didactic exhibition FANIA is the starting point for visitors to the high plateau.
